History of Sound Recording

We will start with, wax cylinders, discs, early optical, wire, and tape recording, then to magnetic and optical again with the laser. The museum will display it's old microphone, wire and tape recorder collection, media, etc.

Magic Lanterns

Many creative techniques were employed to project still images and add movement. These used oil lanterns, gas, mercury strips, carbon arcs, and filament lamps Painted glass plates then photographs contained the images. The museum collection contains many examples from 1850 to 1950.
